Kolling Showcase: Living Longer, Living Better speakers

What does it take to live not only longer, but better? That question brought more than 150 donors, supporters, health professionals and members of our community together for the Living Longer, Living Better showcase, hosted by the NORTH Foundation.

Clinical and research experts from across the Kolling Institute shared how their work is building new knowledge and shaping practical treatments to help people maintain their health, independence and quality of life as they age.

The showcase explored research spanning healthy ageing, dementia prevention, medication management, therapeutic exercise, evidence-based osteoarthritis care, and the relationship between depression, cognitive health and dementia.

The experts behind the research

The breadth of the showcase was reflected in the expertise of the featured speakers, who explored the following areas:

We thank each of our speakers for generously sharing their expertise and for highlighting how research across ageing, mobility, osteoarthritis and mental health can help improve health and quality of life for patients, families and communities.

Across every presentation was a shared focus: turning evidence into meaningful, real-world approaches that can help people stay stronger, more mobile and independent for longer.

“There is a wealth of expertise across the Kolling, and we are pleased to connect members of the community with our researchers to help them pursue ideas with the potential to transform lives.”
- Gil Lorquet CEO, NORTH Foundation

NORTH Foundation CEO Gil Lorquet thanked everyone who joined the showcase, reflecting that events like this offer a valuable opportunity to meet the talented people behind leading healthcare and research, and to see the potential of their work firsthand.

The Kolling Institute’s Academic Director, Professor James Elliott, said the event also demonstrated what becomes possible when researchers, community partners and donors work together.

“We are proud of the strength of our research community and grateful to the NORTH Foundation for its ongoing partnership in helping us turn discovery into impact.”

“Together with our community partners and generous donors, we are translating research into real-world benefits and building a healthier future for communities locally, nationally and globally. We are grateful for their crucial backing.”
