A one-of-a-kind place for young adults and their families.

The Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice (AYAH), the first and only facility of its kind for young adults in Australia, has opened its doors and welcomed its first patient in February 2023.

It is a remarkable place that’s dedicated to caring for 16 to 30 year olds with life-limiting illnesses, also providing symptom-control, respite and end-of-life care.

Why we need your help

Young people across NSW, from the furthest region in the outback to the coast, have limited options available if they are affected by a life-limiting illness and they require expert respite and care.

The AYAH provides a sanctuary that is welcoming, free and comfortable for young people and their family and friends. To make their stay extra special, small businesses in our local community offer generous discounts for patients and families, however the cost of an outing or experience is sometimes still out of reach. By donating, you can help cover the cost of experiences such as massages, sporting activities, dining out or other special events for patients and their families.

We are also reaching out to our community to help raise much-needed funds to support the hospice. Whether you’re helping to provide plants for the garden or supporting the hire of incredible therapists and carers to work with our young people – your fundraising and donations will make a difference.
