Support Hospital in the Home
Hospital care doesn’t always have to happen in a hospital
Hospital in the Home (HITH) is a district-wide service across NSLHD that treats acute patients in their own homes as a safe and effective alternative to hospital admission. It delivers the same high-quality clinical care patients would receive in hospital, often with equal or better outcomes, while allowing them to recover in a more comfortable and familiar environment.
A wide range of conditions, including cellulitis, pneumonia, deep vein thrombosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and urinary tract infections, can be managed safely through HITH. For many patients, this means avoiding a hospital stay altogether or returning home sooner.
By giving, you’re helping bring hospital-level care into the home, where healing can truly begin.

How HITH makes a difference
HITH gives patients more than medical care – it gives them choice, comfort, and dignity. Patients can recover in their own bed, follow their usual routines, enjoy home-cooked meals, and spend time with loved ones on their schedule.
Your contribution ensures that more patients across NSW can access this innovative care model, receiving high-quality treatment without leaving home.
The impact of HITH goes far beyond clinical care
HITH does more than treat medical conditions; it helps patients stay close to their loved ones, maintain daily routines, and recover in the comfort of their own home. Being at home reduces disruption, lowers the risk of hospital-related complications, and supports greater independence during recovery.
Your contribution enables HITH to purchase essential clinical equipment, fund research to improve patient outcomes, and provide further training and education for staff.
Give today to help more patients receive hospital-level care in the comfort of home.
