About the NORTH Foundation

The NORTH Foundation, (formerly the Kolling Foundation), is the official fundraising partner of the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) including Royal North Shore Hospital, Ryde Hospital, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital and the Kolling Institute.

Our vision
To create a future where our community benefits from quality healthcare and there are no barriers to what can be achieved through innovative health research and patient care.

Our purpose
We exist to deliver better patient outcomes for our community by bridging the gap between what is needed today and what is possible tomorrow.

Our promise
We are committed to supporting medical and community health services that are there for everyone in the community, throughout their whole lives.

We work in partnership with our hospitals and research units to raise much needed funds so they can continue to provide the best in patient care and drive research to find solutions to real-world health problems impacting our community.

The NORTH Foundation is driven by a single vision to be widely recognised as a major contributor to world-class medical research and a community health system in which people enjoy improved health throughout their lives.

By striving to deliver our vision the NORTH Foundation will be able to improve community wellbeing by supporting innovative health research and the delivery of exceptional care for patients (and their families) in ways that are meaningful and valuable to the individual patient.

Our fundraising pillars of purpose include:

Research – We fund world-class and innovative medical research that has a tangible impact on patients’ lives.

Educate – We offer education and training opportunities for our researchers, healthcare workers and community services staff.

Care – We improve patient care and facilities through the provision of new health services and equipment.

Nurture – We develop meaningful relationships with our community by supporting our donors and engaging in health promotion activities.

As a result of the generous support of the community, our partners, hospital staff, patients, their families and corporate organisations we can continue to build better hospitals, achieve superior research outcomes and make progress in the fight against chronic diseases and devastating illnesses – all the while allowing healthcare staff to treat and care for patients in a more sophisticated and tailored manner across the NSLHD. Overall, we provide the ability to improve the health of the community and deliver exceptional patient care.

Led by CEO Gilbert Lorquet, an involved and engaged Board of Directors, and dedicated teamwork, we continue to build and reinforce community and private partnerships to raise vital funds and deliver world-class medical research and a community health system.
