This morning, we hosted our inaugural Philanthropy Champions Breakfast which celebrated the dedicated clinicians who actively foster philanthropy within Northern Sydney Local Health District. Alongside district chief executive Anthony Schembri, we recognised 24 passionate staff members who collaborate with the NORTH Foundation to connect grateful patients with opportunities to give back.
The energy in the room was positive and inspiring, reflecting the enthusiasm and commitment of our clinicians in strengthening a culture of giving. The Philanthropy Champions Program is designed to celebrate and support those who understand the transformative power of philanthropy and work closely with the NORTH Foundation to create meaningful change.
Why engagement with clinicians matters
Turning gratitude into impact – Many patients and their families want to give back to the clinicians who have changed their lives. Clinicians who facilitate these opportunities ensure that this goodwill transforms into tangible support.
Enhancing patient outcomes – Donations enable our hospitals and facilities to invest in cutting-edge technology, state-of-the-art facilities and groundbreaking treatments that will ultimately improve outcomes for patients.
Building a sustainable healthcare future – A strong philanthropic culture within our hospitals and other facilities ensures long-term sustainability and growth, benefiting both current and future generations.
Looking to the future
Our Philanthropy Champions Program marks a deeper collaboration between NSLHD clinicians and the NORTH Foundation. This initiative will include ongoing engagement opportunities, training workshops, and other recognition events to empower clinicians to embrace their role in philanthropy.
We are excited about the journey ahead and grateful to our Philanthropy Champions for their dedication to shaping the future of healthcare through philanthropy. Together, we can make a lasting impact that will benefit patients and communities for years to come.
